Who is Eligible?
Upper Savannah Workforce Programs are limited to residents of Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda.
You must be at least 14 years old. If you are 22 years old, you might be served through the WIA adult program.
You must meet requirements for family income. If your family receives public assistance, you probably meet guidelines. You may meet income guidelines if your parents are unemployed or working at low-wage jobs.
If you have a disability, only your personal income is considered.
In addition to the income requirements, youth should possess one or more of the following characteristics:
- Have basic skills below grade level
- Be a high school dropout
- Lack adequate housing, be a runaway or foster child
- Be a parenting/pregnant youth
- Be an offender, or
- Lack dependable transportation.
